Sunday Morning Education Hour
This is My Son Bible Study - Concludes December 3rd
As Advent approaches in December, we will be looking at Advent devotions in the booklet called "This is My Son", focusing on Old Testament prophecies as they relate to the accounts of Jesus' birth in the New Testament. Those who attend will reflect on three other sons—the son of Adam (Cain), the son of Abraham (Ishmael), and the son of David (Absalom) who all fall short and lose the right to be called children of God. But the Son of God does not fall short! This will be a roundtable discussion that will end on Sunday, December 3rd. This study will be held in the Fellowship Hall.
Joining Jesus Bible Study - Concludes December 3rd
This new book was written by LCMS Pastor Greg Finke and his wife, Susan. Christian parents want to raise their children to be life-long followers of Jesus. But many parents watch their children grow up, leave home, and then walk away from the faith or, at least, from regular worship with fellow believers. What went wrong? And, how can a new generation of parents avoid the same result? Pastor Dave Benson is leading a 10 week study on this book during the Christian Education Hour (9:45-10:45 AM). This class is for anyone helping a child live the fruitful and fulfilling life of a Jesus-follower, but especially for parents, grandparents, and supporting adults.
December Adult Bible Study - Starts December 17th
Does God never give us more than we can handle? Are sins only forgiven with the shedding of blood? Did the Father forsake Jesus on the cross? Are wives commanded to submit to their husbands? Should women never dress-up, teach, or speak-up, and are they saved by childbearing? Each of these questions will be explored in-depth in "What the Bible Actually Says: Exploring 5 [Not-So-]'Well-Known' Scriptures." This three-session Adult Bible study will be facilitated by Cody Jeffries during the education hour and will be held in the Gathering Room on December 17, 24, and 31.
Youth Bible Study
Harold Tscherny leads this study for 6th - 12th grade students on Sunday mornings during the education hour. It is held in classroom FC-4 (the game room).
